MADE WITH HEART
Meet the Maker
Save Me Some started with a pretty simple thought: “You know, maybe other people would like these, too.” I was already making and sharing snacks I loved, including a few I’d known since I was a kid. At some point, that seemed like a good enough reason to test the theory.
I’d spent years in big tech and tiny startups, and I liked starting things, shaping them, making them better, and working with people who were genuinely in it with me. A few rounds of tech layoffs and a cancer diagnosis later, I was ready for something I could get excited about again — something I could grow, keep improving, and have a little more say in where it went.
So I took the snacks to a market. My first one was cold, rainy, and windy enough that tents were blowing over, which was not exactly the soft launch I had in mind. But I loved it. I loved the energy, the anticipation, the other vendors, and getting to watch people try the snacks for the first time. All day, I kept hearing some version of, “Wow, these are actually really good.”
The “actually” still makes me laugh.
That first market made me want to do another one. I already loved spending weekends at markets, and being on the other side of the table felt surprisingly natural. Save Me Some has grown from there, alongside a very full family life with two littles.
There’s plenty more I want to do with Save Me Some, and I’m paying close attention to what people love, what they ask for next, and the ideas worth chasing. If you have a good one, I’m listening.
